Deleting your data

Last updated 22 September 2026

Three different things get called "delete my data", and they cover different things. Here is what each one actually does.

1. Disconnecting Instagram

Ends our access to your Instagram account and deletes the access token. Your website stays up and keeps working exactly as it did before you connected.

Do it on Instagram, under Settings → Apps and websites, by removing Zapfront. Instagram tells us the moment you do, and we delete the connection on our side.

2. Deleting the data we hold because of Instagram

This is what Meta's own data-deletion request triggers, and what the confirmation code above refers to. It deletes the access token, your Instagram account ID and your handle.

That is the whole of what we hold because you connected. The photos and words on your website came from your public Instagram profile — the page anyone can open without logging in — and they were there before you connected and stay after you disconnect. To remove those, you want the next one.

This does not take your website down. Your site, your address and your account are a relationship you have with us directly, not with Meta, and a click on a settings screen inside Instagram should not silently destroy a live business website. If you want the site gone too, ask for it below — it takes one email and we would rather you meant it.

3. Deleting your website and your account

This is the whole thing: your site and everything it was built from, your uploaded images, your settings, your account and your email address. Your site stops being served and the address is released.

Email ryan@zapfront.com from the address you signed up with and say you want your account deleted. We will confirm before anything is removed, and then do it within 30 days. There is no self-serve button for this yet, and we would rather answer an email than hand you an irreversible one.

Anonymous previews

If you only ever typed a handle into the box on the front page and never claimed anything, there is no account and nothing tied to you. That preview expires within seven days on its own.

Zapfront is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Instagram or Meta.
