Terms of service
Last updated 6 October 2026
Zapfront is a service owned and operated by Ryan McDonnell, a sole proprietor. References to ‘we,’ ‘us,’ and ‘our’ in these Terms refer to Ryan McDonnell operating Zapfront.
Zapfront builds you a website from your public Instagram account and hosts it. These are the terms of using it. We have tried to write them in the same language we use everywhere else.
What you get
A website at yourname.zapfront.com, built from your public Instagram profile and the details
you add, hosted by us, free. Paid plans add more, like your own domain; see Paid plans.
If we ever charge for something you already have, we will tell you first and you can leave instead.
Your account
We never set a password. Signing in means clicking a link we email you, so whoever can read your email can reach your account — keep it secure. Tell us at ryan@zapfront.com if you think someone else has got in.
You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you must be a real business or person.
Your content stays yours
Your photos, your words, your logo, your business name — all yours. Nothing here changes that.
You are giving us permission to do one thing with them: display them on the website we build for you, and store and process them to that end, for as long as your site exists. That permission ends when you delete your site.
In return, you are telling us you have the right to use what you hand over — that the photos are yours or licensed to you, and that showing them on a website does not break anyone else's rights or your agreement with Instagram. If a complaint reaches us about content on your site, we will come to you first wherever we can.
Zapfront is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Instagram or Meta. Your account there is governed by their terms, not ours, and we cannot help you with it.
We read your public profile to build your site. If you connect your account, we read the same things through Instagram's API, using read-only access — we never post, comment or message as you. Instagram can change what it allows at any time, and has; if that breaks how your site updates, we will tell you what changed.
What we promise, and what we don't
We will make a real effort to keep your site up and to keep it current, and to tell you honestly when something is broken.
We do not promise it will never go down. We do not promise your site updates instantly — it checks for new posts periodically, which is minutes-to-hours behind Instagram, not live. We do not promise the service will exist forever: if we stop running it, we will give you notice and time to take your content somewhere else.
The service is provided as it is, without warranties beyond what the law gives you and we cannot exclude. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost business, lost profits, lost goodwill — and our total liability to you for anything arising out of Zapfront is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. On the free plan that is nothing, which is the honest shape of a free product.
Using it properly
Don't use Zapfront to:
- Publish anything illegal, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.
- Impersonate another business or person.
- Publish malware, phishing pages, or anything designed to deceive people into handing over money or credentials.
- Break into, overload or probe our systems, or anyone else's through ours.
- Claim an address meant to pass as someone else's brand.
If you do, we may take the site down. We will tell you why, and for anything that is not urgent or plainly illegal we will ask you to fix it first.
Paid plans
Starter and Pro are paid plans. You pay in advance, for a year or a month at a time, and a plan renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
You can cancel a paid plan whenever you want. It keeps running until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then it ends. We do not give refunds, for a year or a month, in full or in part.
A domain you connect stays registered in your name, with whoever you bought it from, and it stays yours if you cancel. We will help you point it wherever you want.
Ending it
You can leave whenever you want. Deleting your data sets out how, and what each kind of deletion covers.
We can end your account if you break these terms, or if we stop running the service. Except where something is urgent or illegal, you get notice and a chance to take your content with you.
Changes
We will change these terms as the product changes, and update the date at the top. For anything that materially affects you we will email you before it takes effect, and continuing to use Zapfront after that means you accept it.
